Key Documents in Australian Submarine History

A collection of documents, as comprehensive as possible, to serve both as an introduction to Australian submarine history for the beginner and as a basis for further enquiry by specialist researchers. The research products will take both a thematic and chronological form. Each part or theme will be prefaced by a general introduction and each section by one providing the context within which that particular group of documents were generated. Notes to the introduction will refer to the principal secondary sources used to set the context. All references will be gathered in a bibliography. The notes to the documents proper will be confined to elucidating the documents’ meanings. It is the intention to provide a glossary of technical terms, a list of abbreviations and a comprehensive index.
